Congrats! You popped the question, you started planning your wedding, you’re (hopefully) offering a ton of support to your bride… But have you thought about your look for the wedding? Most eyes will be on her during the ceremony, but it’s your day too… and you will want to look and feel your best! Taking time to prep your skin, plan your hairstyle, and coordinate your boutonniere will help you look polished and put together for the big day.
Prep your skin
Taking care of your skin may be the most important part of your look. You will be photographed constantly on your wedding day, and well-cared-for skin will help you look and feel confident in every shot. First, use a well-loved moisturizer (morning and night) to ensure your skin stays healthy and soft. If you’re searching for a new facial cream, look for one with hydrating ingredients like shea butter. A big part of a man’s face is his facial hair—so, whether you plan to go clean shaven or rock a full beard, using high quality razor to get a close shave or clean lines along your facial hair will help you avoid tugging or nicks.
Plan your hairstyle
There’s a ton of trendy hairstyles you can rock on your wedding day. But if you’re seeking a more timeless look, stick with your go-to haircut and freshen it up by taking time to style it properly for your wedding day. Ask your hairstylist or barber for tips on how to give yourself a more formal look; they are the experts and can show you exactly how to achieve an appropriate wedding day style. Plus, they can recommend the best products for your hair type.
Bonus tip: if you’re going to try out new products, avoid ones with irritating ingredients like fragrance, you don’t want to suffer an uncomfortable reaction during your wedding!
Coordinate your boutonniere
You can leave this one to us! We’ll design a custom boutonniere to complement your bride’s bouquet. The boutonniere should be placed over your left lapel (the same side as your wedding ring). But don’t worry—our planners can assist you and your groomsmen with pinning, so nobody gets pricked. You’ll also want to decide on a tie or bowtie, along with any accessories. Take a look at our checklist of groom’s accessories you might want to consider:
Sounds pretty easy, right? And we’ll be here to help you every step of the way. Our planners work hard to make sure our couples can relax and savor the big day. Let us handle all the behind-the-scenes details, so you can enjoy hanging out with your groomsmen, dancing the night away, and – of course – saying “I do” to your beautiful bride.
