Fashion Friday: What Should the Mother of the Bride Wear?
June 26, 2015
2016 trends are showing a whole new look not just for the bride, but for her mother too. Mothers have such a hard time deciding what to wear. The day ultimately belongs to their daughter, but they still want to feel special also…and they deserve that.
There are a couple of rules of thumb when it comes to choosing the dress for the Mother of the Bride.
-Be comfortable: This is so important. Weddings are long, and if you choose something that is pretty, but uncomfortable you will regret it.
-Don’t outdo the bride: If the bride has lace, you don’t need lace. If the bride is wearing strapless, don’t wear strapless. You get the idea. Choose your own look.
-Try color: One of the hottest new trends is bright colors. Choose to step out of the norm of black, brown or champagne and wear something that is bright and suits your skin tone. Never wear white, and never wear the same color as the bridesmaids.
Speaking of color, shades of blue are all over the bridal runway this year. So, blue is a great choice for an upcoming Mother of Bride. Few designers do cocktail and evening dresses better than the bridal designer, Pronovias. The following pictures are from their Spring 2016 line.
